        john browns body is really cool and has good lyrics

        but battle hymn removed most the antislavery antisouth words for stock gospel

          It’s not stock gospel.
          It’s still explicitly anti-slavery and connects abolition and the war with the wider Christian mission.
          I personally found it very poetic.
