    I call to reference a previous thread that discussed how now it should be $17/hr. That 15 was from 2012(ish) and due to stupid economy stuff it has increased again.

    The only way things will actually get passed in a way that would benefit people is if more people like “the squad” or younger, more diverse people were in. But then of course that only makes electoralism look like it works. The system is designed to make sure it keeps establishment people and the same types are in charge to keep things running as they always have.

      If it kept up to inflation from the last increase the current min wage would be over $9/hour so that's the min baseline to keep in mind. $15 per hour is about $30k per year. Someone explain how that's too much for a person to make minimally.
