    Is Russell brand based? I'm seriously asking I've never heard anything about his political beliefs. But I think he's the only person on youtube with a sizeable following that has even mentioned india so good on him.

      he's pretty based in an anti capitalist way for sure, not sure if has any specific ideology. he caused a big controversy here in the uk a while back telling people not to bother voting cos its pointless and both parties are the same, which caused a lot of 'how dare you attack our precious free democracy' kind of outrage even tho he was basically correct (this was before corbyn).

      Not sure where he falls on the political compass but its decidedly some form of leftist anticapitalism. One of my favorites was calling out Hugo Boss for making the Nazi uniforms during an event they sponsored. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/russell-brand-hugo-boss-nazi_n_3873032

      I remember when he first started gaining notice in leftist circles, he did some youtube videos called trunews or something, good takes on capitalism, but then he started getting all spiritual and new agey, stopped following him.
