Warhammer 40k probably has a death toll per capita far lower than our reality.
Like, for most people the PDF gets called out once every century and seeing an imperial guardsman may as well be a personal audience with Napoleon. We only see the "exciting bits", not the agri-world that had a corvette visit it 7000 years ago and still celebrates it.
