It’s unnecessary and it’s invasive. No way you would be saying this if america demanded Chinese diplomats to do this. It would be wrong then and it’s wrong now.

I don’t give a fuck what’s common or normal in China. Nonconsensual sexual touching is assault. Coercive sexual touching is assault. Assault is assault, point blank and it’s disgusting for you to pretend otherwise. No way you would be saying this if it was Americans forcing Chinese diplomats to comply with rectal swabs when we have a hundred other ways to get reliable results.

            1. Yes it is

            2. Don’t think I didn’t notice you avoided the topic of coercion.

“Do our tests or fly back home across thousands of miles and risk losing your job because we won’t let you do it” is absolutely coercion. Done with replying to you, you’re welcome to have the last word since that’s clearly more important to you than respecting bodily autonomy regardless of politics.

Coercion is assault, dipshit. If your choices are to comply or to lose your job, you dont have a choice.

What the fuck do you think will happen to a diplomat who isnt able to enter the country they are supposed to communicate with? You freaks really have absolutely no principles. Sexual assault is wrong regardless of your politics. Done with you, say what you want to end this, I can see where your values lay.

why the fuck should i care if a diplomat gets fired because they didn't want to follow a country's standard testing procedure? diplomats aren't fucking working class, at least not in the US

This virus killed 500k in the US. A butt swap really is nothing compared to a pandemic.

I mean, sure that would be nice. Hypothetically, I would submit to a rectal swabbing to save some lives.

If this was the standard procedure in America that everyone is subjected to as it is in China, what would be the issue? Anal swabs are perfectly normal and they are more accurate than nose swabs, and everyone takes them in China.

I'm sorry, but Covid tests are not sexual assault. The anus is not an inherently sexual organ, there is no sexual dimension at all to the procedure, it's just ridiculous.

If I go to some countries, I have to take vaccines to be allowed to stay.Is that sexual assault also? If not, why isn't it? And why is putting things in people's mouths for tests totally valid and okay but not around the anus?

It is sexual assault because for most people it is considered something more of a sexual area than your blood vessels. If the people were being forced to deep throat the swab it wouldnt be any better, when non-sexual options are readily available. The chinese government understands this, which is why they have apologized and reversed their decision. I'm not surprised people here are defending them despite that, but I am definitely surprised everyone here is so ok with letting people's bodily autonomy be voided for no justifiable reason purely because china wants to do it.

No one's bodily autonomy is being voided. If you want to leave, you can leave.

Other options are available, yes, but with a higher false negative rate. If the decision to use less reliable tests was made then clusters would he missed and additional travel restriction would have to be imposed.

You're acting as if it was done for fun. It wasn't. It's more difficult to deal with anal swabs. It is done because there is a very large medical and public health benefit to it.

Not to mention, you're not even realizing it, but you're making sexual assault a culturally relative phenomenon by your argument.
