Yeah compared to stateside prisons, Guantanamo inmates get excellent healthcare what’s the problem.

Mandatory rectal probing for “medical purposes” isn’t really my idea of joke material regardless of whether I like the person who gets them.

“Medically warranted rectal feeding” for hunger strikers. It’s just proper nutrition supplementation.

Didn’t sound consensual to me, reading the article. Clearly they’re not the same but you invited that line of reasoning with bravoing “medical treatment” so I took it to the logical conclusion.

It’s cool though, please everyone continue :sickoing: about glorious China anally probing people for something that can be tested using spit.

I don’t think it’s really clear, considering if you need to get to your position you’re required to do it even when more convenient and functionally accurate tests exist. But honestly consent or medical necessity wasn't even the point of my original post. The post seems more interested in chuckling about Americans uncomfortably getting things put their butts than anything else, and that China (“critical support though”) was based for doing it to them. My point like others was I’d rather not celebrate things that make people uncomfortable related to things going in their ass, regardless of who they are.

I’m not trying to argue about this all day. At the base of this I found your initial response pretty flippant and dismissive, so responded in kind. My comparison isn’t anything I’m willing to seriously defend, so I’ll just leave it at that.

It actually is pretty cool to see who here really cares about bodily autonomy and calling out what's wrong when they see it regardless of politics vs who just wants to fake it in order to curry political favor for le red imperialist hedgemon. Walking out of this thread with respect for a handful of people and a dozen names to add to my pay no mind list.

Any pandemic outbreak that needs to be managed necessarily requires testing.

Mass testing by definition involves reduction in bodily autonomy should testing become mandatory. There is no increase in bodily autonomy being required to do a nasal swab than an anal swab. There is no bodily autonomy in requiring lockdowns that restrict your movement and what activities the public can engage in.

Nothing about this story indicates diplomats being forced at gunpoint, and the entire basis for it is a ridiculous standard about "dignity" for exempting diplomats, a privilege the ordinary population don't get because they think butt stuff is icky and probably makes you gay or some other ridiculous hang up. If the testing is thought to be accurate, then it makes sense to use it where appropriate.

                      You're a fucking idiot.

Neither can you, you just keep repeating the same bullshit about this being sexual assault because ew icky butt stuff, then hand wave about bodily autonomy in a pandemic that to be managed requires mass testing and restrictions of movement until effective vaccines are widely deployed enough that risks of transmission and harm are significantly reduced.

No, you actually can't, because at no point do the details in this story suggest sexual assault, other than you projecting your insecurities about maybe one day having a doctor examine your ass 'cos you can't stop shitting yourself.

On the one hand, I can see you care a lot about making me read your China apologia, but on the other hand, I have serious concerns about where you are copy and pasting everything from, as per our previous discussion.

So, you accuse other people of copying and pasting shit, then immediately start copying and pasting the same response over and over when you can't deal with very obvious and straight forward points people make to you because you're a dumbass?

Have you considered the possibility that I don’t give a fuck about your opinion and am replying out of boredom now

Have you considered you could have shut up a long time ago, stopped replying when people called you out for obvious bullshit, and not make yourself look like even more of an idiot complaining about copy and pasting responses only to do exactly that immediately?
