Did the CIA say that because they're scuttling the op in favor of another play? I think some Trump people were heavily involved in this with the BBC being the initial source. Wouldn't be surprised if the new cabinet just didn't like it and figured continuing to bomb Syria was a better use of time.

I thought it was the state department that backed off of the narrative - but the still call the reeducation centers "crimes against humanity"
