    This sounds ridiculous, some floating barely visible text? Like it is one of those subliminal messages? If Huawei actually does this on purpose that is unfathomably based. But I feel like he's just been hacked?

      He's apparently working on getting proof lol. He said he he doesn't have access to a second camera unless his roommates are around.

      Its almost certainly not real but the hypothetical scenario that the filter has a "subliminally fat shame Anglos" mode it switches to when not in China is fucking hilarious.

        UPDATE: Crisis Averted.

        So…it’s both not what I thought it was, and what I thought it was.

        Turns out my 5 year old phone has developed some rendering issues. The message I can only assume is the result of an image being turned sideways getting caught in the renderer’s cache or buffer and presenting as a ‘ghost’ similar to burn in. The image in question was a meme right here on lemmy:
