Writing off most/all anime (Which, again, is literally any/all animation from Japan regardless of content) is the same thing as writing off most/all western animation: CMV.

    I think its important to remember that what most of us perceive to be "the majority of anime" is filtered through the tastes of western neckbeard consumers. The anime we hear about or are translated inherently cater to the demographic that's most likely to consume it and buy merchandise.

    If you look at the highest grossing anime films in Japan, it's overwhelmingly family-friendly entertainment. Might not be woke, but not really reactionary either.

    Thats not to say that there isn't a Japanese market for reactionary trash, but we should be careful not to assume that what's popular in the west is equally popular in Japan.
