    Yeah, this is a weird (almost orientalist) double standard. Look at it another way, most American Hollywood productions are reactionary garbage, but I very seldom hear leftists say that all American live action films are garbage.

        Read the sentence you quoted again. Very few people dismiss ALL American live action films as garbage. In fact, I recall that the old sub was very positive about Sorry to Bother You when it came out.

        People can dunk on capeshit while acknowledging that there are some good live action films coming out of the US. No reason you can't dunk on reactionary anime while acknowledging that good stuff comes out too.
