        If they really believed there were WMDs in Iraq, I would expect them to go in without any kind of safety equipment, since that's what they did last time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gulf_War_syndrome

          They did, the US invaders wore MOPP protective gear during the initial invasion and subsequently smelt like shit like the pigs they were.
