I actually think voltorb is a great idea for a pokemon. the idea of monsters/spirits disguised as something else … idk i think that’s neat.

I actually agree, but it bothers me when people don't apply this same logic to the later gens. Like, a lot of peoples' only response to Gen 5 is "lol ice cream cone", and that feels like a double standard
