it’d be like if joe biden walked up and grabbed your fucking head and asked you if he could kiss you.
Yea that picture is much worse than just asking someone if you can kiss them as its essentially physical coercion at that point, so yea fuck him. My bad for commenting before looking into it.
I do disagree about it mattering that he is the governor though, like who would actually give a shit other than those that he has power over in politics, if some state governor or mayor tried something on me I wasn't happy with why would I feel a need to comply? so I'd say the power dynamic on a random citizen is minimal, he is basically just a shitty F list celebrity with some political sway.
OP made it sound more like in that one case it was just him being a creep trying to flirt which isn't really harassment if he didn't push it and had no real power over the person but the picture shows he was actually hardcore creeping. As a disclaimer again Cuomo is a harassing creep for many other things anyway and absolutely deserves to get dragged for it.
A cop is a state tool for violence, so it's no surprise they are easily forgiven for any excessive uses of that violence. A governor on the other hand has to make a show of civility, show that the ruling class are smart and just want what is best for us all , it's a much more precarious position than a cop with a lot more people looking to exploit any misbehavior, as this whole thing shows.
There's a big difference between the 2 and what threat they pose to the average person for the sake of being petty and vindictive. I'd rather have someone like Cuomo have a vendetta against me than your average beat cop to be honest.
i think you're entirely missing the point of what a hierarchy is and ignoring the fact that if this chick suddenly gets killed in some kind of random robbery that no one would question anything, and someone could just randomly get the fuck away, without any leads from any kind of police. "we're investigating, no leads, shucks."
if you don't think that the government works in that kinda way, well i think you might be on the wrong fuckin' website.
Agree to disagree on this one I think, though there is a distinction to be made between systematic violence and personal violence I feel that any random man on the street is just as dangerous for a woman in this situation (jilting a mans advances), I don't see Cuomo having other more systematic methods of violent punishment as being particularly meaningful as it's the same result if he is unhinged enough to do something horrible either way. In this way I find it hard to see what he did as worse than any person doing it (and it is bad for any person to do it)

Fair enough that's probably the reason i'm not seeing the issue so much I guess, I'm from the UK and all our politicians are jokes so even with the political power they have I can't see many people being intimidated by them.
Can't say I've looked into this but did he have any power or leverage over her? if so then that's creeping, if not then that's fine I guess.
he's the fuckin governor and his dad was the governor. of course he has power over her. the governor is the fucking president of the state dude.

are you really gonna pretend a governor doesn't have the entirety of the state hierarchy at their disposal?
a fucking beatcop can murder a person with impunity.

yup, no one high yup in the state has ever abused their power to murder someone and get away with it.
