Worse than the tweet are the replies agreeing with it.

My question is, did any one of these women EVER TELL HIM, he made them uncomfortable? Or do they just sit on these feelings and then complain to the world yet never give him the opportunity to fix it or do better first?

And there are people calling this a conspiracy by Trump and the Republicans.

Libs are really sounding like those dude bros who say "but how do I know if she consented! Consent is too confusing!"

I don't think it's a good idea to censor this or take it down or anything, but is there any way to put this post in NSFW mode or add a content warning? Didn't really want to see it first thing in the morning. :doomjak:

Whenever I argue with dumb libs about Democrats being accused of misconduct I always employ the "would I get fired?" metric. If I were to behave the way said politician did at my workplace (Biden with Tara Reade, Cuomo with these aids, AL Franken etc) would I get fired? The answer is unequivocally yes, every time, Aand if so conversation over and the person becomes indefensible at that point.

lmao at the guy in the comments arguing that "it's creepy because they're so much younger than him and he's their boss, but if they weren't so much younger it wouldn't be creepy so what's the big deal?"

If it was a different situation it wouldn't be as bad, so why is this bad? Is not a take I was expecting about sexual harassment.

Whenever I bring this up to libs they’re always like, “Would you rather have DeSantis running things?!”

Like how hard is it to admit they both suck.

In all seriousness, what would be the difference?

You know I threw sex positive parties, like those in which there will be quite a bit of fucking sooner or later. One thing that was against consent was just creeping up on everyone and saying: Wanna fuck?!

Even in sex positive places you have to establish contact first, then do escalate in little steps. Even when I go cruising I don't just join two people playing and respect the consent to escalate. So I might have harsh opinions about it, but it is possible to not be a creep - if you are in a structurally powerful position you just have to be aware of that and have to actually act different.

Can't say I've looked into this but did he have any power or leverage over her? if so then that's creeping, if not then that's fine I guess.

it’d be like if joe biden walked up and grabbed your fucking head and asked you if he could kiss you.

Yea that picture is much worse than just asking someone if you can kiss them as its essentially physical coercion at that point, so yea fuck him. My bad for commenting before looking into it.

I do disagree about it mattering that he is the governor though, like who would actually give a shit other than those that he has power over in politics, if some state governor or mayor tried something on me I wasn't happy with why would I feel a need to comply? so I'd say the power dynamic on a random citizen is minimal, he is basically just a shitty F list celebrity with some political sway.

OP made it sound more like in that one case it was just him being a creep trying to flirt which isn't really harassment if he didn't push it and had no real power over the person but the picture shows he was actually hardcore creeping. As a disclaimer again Cuomo is a harassing creep for many other things anyway and absolutely deserves to get dragged for it.

are you really gonna pretend a governor doesn't have the entirety of the state hierarchy at their disposal?

a fucking beatcop can murder a person with impunity.

A cop is a state tool for violence, so it's no surprise they are easily forgiven for any excessive uses of that violence. A governor on the other hand has to make a show of civility, show that the ruling class are smart and just want what is best for us all , it's a much more precarious position than a cop with a lot more people looking to exploit any misbehavior, as this whole thing shows.

There's a big difference between the 2 and what threat they pose to the average person for the sake of being petty and vindictive. I'd rather have someone like Cuomo have a vendetta against me than your average beat cop to be honest.

i think you're entirely missing the point of what a hierarchy is and ignoring the fact that if this chick suddenly gets killed in some kind of random robbery that no one would question anything, and someone could just randomly get the fuck away, without any leads from any kind of police. "we're investigating, no leads, shucks."

if you don't think that the government works in that kinda way, well i think you might be on the wrong fuckin' website.

Agree to disagree on this one I think, though there is a distinction to be made between systematic violence and personal violence I feel that any random man on the street is just as dangerous for a woman in this situation (jilting a mans advances), I don't see Cuomo having other more systematic methods of violent punishment as being particularly meaningful as it's the same result if he is unhinged enough to do something horrible either way. In this way I find it hard to see what he did as worse than any person doing it (and it is bad for any person to do it)

Fair enough that's probably the reason i'm not seeing the issue so much I guess, I'm from the UK and all our politicians are jokes so even with the political power they have I can't see many people being intimidated by them.
