I have issues with sleep walking and have moved into a place with roommates and I think it kinda freaks them out finding me asleep in places in the house besides my room in the morning. Doesn’t help my room gets kinda warm so I generally don’t have a lot of clothes on.
If I put a lock on the door is sleep zombie me gonna be smart enough to open it or will I just go back to bed?
Maybe you start sleep-banging on the door and screaming: Let me out! Let me out! Ahhhhhhh
I actually have a history of night terrors. I've freaked out several girlfriends by waking up and screaming my ass off, and then just falling back to sleep.
I think I should talk to a sleep doctor. Are sleep doctors a thing?
Yeah they’re definitely a thing, but I don’t know what they’re called.
I think they have you sleep in a medical facility with nurses or grad students watching you all night or something; it’s been recommended I see one for sleep apnea because apparently I just stop breathing in my sleep sometimes.
Yeah I apparently get apnea as well. At least I've had people tell me I can snore really loud and then start gasping. But it's not consistent, some nights I sleep like a babe and others I'm choking on my own throat.
For sleep apnea they don't require you to stay overnight, you just attach a little oxygen sensor to one of your fingers before you go to sleep and they check the data it gathered.
yes. most of it is psychiatric related. (no shame get that taken care of it's analogous to orhtopedic injury) and some orthopedic issues: large weight, cardiovasuclar, etc.
epsworth sleep scale, apnea, etc. just tell your general practitioner you have night terrors and work with them. they will know who to make the referral to
