    I don't think it's a huge effect, but I believe there was a subtle effect that skewed a lot of the trends towards eariler-age dementia.

      Actually, the proportion of people developing dementia has been falling steadily since the phasing out of lead gasoline. It's obviously not the sole cause of neurodegenerative diseases, but it seems to play an outsized role.
