they actually rent from a Coconut Lord, which is another octopus that provides coconuts to other octopods in exchange for rent. If this octopus works hard and takes risk, then maybe some day it too can be a Coconut Lord and earn a passive income of its own.

      thats absurd; there would be no incentive to provide coconuts in that case, which would only harm the working class octopod
