Aren't they the ones that raised a bunch of money for a community center and then it came out that they were using the money to open a craft brewery? Literally the most podcast host thing a person can do.

I'd listened to a couple episodes of it at work and really didn't like them at all. One episode was all about their band and how much they love christian rock music or something? Anyway, death to all podcasts

Something like that, and then the entire group shattered because like half of them said "no you cant use the podcast money to open a brewery, what the fuck is wrong with you" or something reasonable like that.

That was peak dumb. They were a group called The Marxist Centre in Colorado Springs, a deeply conservative area. Outside of PSL's Denver chapter I think they might have been the only ML org in the state. They had a good launching point in an increasingly radical region for something and they chose... a craft brewery in a state oversaturated with craft breweries. Where I can go into any liquor store and get one of 10 versions of most styles that are better than what some amateur could make with stolen podcast money. Where New Belgium and Funkwerks are located so they can cheaply supply all of the niche styles I'd actually buy because Porter But Communism is still just a boring porter brewed as a passion project by someone whose dad is a podcast.

edit: I just checked and there are 14 craft breweries within a thirty minute bike ride of my small farming town. At least three of them sell nationally as some of the best in their categories.

two people from the podcast wanted to use patreon funds to start a brewery (lol), and were just generally shitty to other members

They should have used some money to buy recording equipment not made of tinfoil and eggshells. Literally unlistenable.

It's fine to not have great equipment, but it actually hurt my head trying to listen to them. Content was ok, but I feel I could do better audio quality with a $20 microphone and a piece of foam.
