I've seen mixed reviews, some people say it's fantastic, others think it's garbage. what do my fellow chapos think?
First season is good with lots of social commentary
Seasons 2 and 3 are okay, not as much commentary but more focus on current events, and the characters in surreal situations
Season 4 is bad
Generally it’s “woke” on the topic of racial issues in America but can be regressive when it comes to LGBT stuff in the way most media from it’s time was
season 4 was actually brought back by the network without any input by the creator of the show/comics. Its really bad so you probably shouldn't watch it
One last thought about the show, some of the hate (and unfortunately some of the love) for it comes from the fact that some people misinterpret it as a criticism of black american culture, which it isn't at least primarily.
Great right up until Mcgruder leaves as the director. Probably the best show that Adult Swim ever financed honestly.
It's fairly hit and miss. I absolutely loved it back when it aired but watching it more recently it hasn't aged as well for me. Agree with the takes that it got much worse over time. It's pretty funny if you don't take it too seriously.
First 3 seasons are great, whatever you do don't watch season 4 though.
I thought the first two seasons were great, but it kinda dropped off and got ridiculous after that.
