Right now you can hide certain comms by subscribing to all the ones you actually want to see, and then changing your default homepage view in settings to "Subscribed" instead of "All." I have been doing this for a while because anything to do with Christianity pokes at my PTSD, and it works well enough. An actual blocking feature for comms really should be implemented though.
