I'm skeptical that electoral reform will fix things, it might make things more stupid
Okay get this. Hear me out. First, we get a bunch of podcast hosts together
A third party might do well locally or regionally, in Republican-leaning areas where people have been let down historically by both parties. I don't think it would work in places the Democrats control, because they've been saying third parties are bad for at least 30 years and their base has internalized it.
The DSA model may end up working to an extent, we'll see how things turn out in Nevada. My bet is the establishment Dems there will make their own third party to spoil the next election for the new Nevada Dem party leadership. That move would point out some issues with the US 'electoral' system, and hopefully radicalize more folks. I can see the Reid machine doing something incredibly petty like that, they don't have many other options.
