Well its easier when there's not a plague. When the plague ends join a sport club of some kind. Taek wan do has a good gender balance and you're all being ridiculous together. Something like that where its a bit silly is good. Joining like real sport you get more hierarchy behaviour. I know people compete in taek wondo but its deeply silly compared to like olympic wrestling or something like that for most of the people involved.

In the bit of Covid remaining I suggest playing games. The inverse is actually true here. The more people take it seriously the more likely they are to add you if you communicate well and are chill. Matchmaking will put you roughly at the level where you should be in regards being good at whatever. I've made a load of online friends through counterstrike over the years. Obviously you are going to meet a lot of shitheads that way but also people who just want to play a game where you talk a bunch and cheer each other on.

I don't know what you work at or if you do but like you can make work friends. For reasons I won't get into one of my best friends is a guy I was trapped in a room with for a year and half. From 8 in the morning till about t, half 5 it was just us. He's deeply apolitical, just like any healthy person , so I couldn't really talk that all the time. When we did he'd try to fuck with me in different ways like Jeremy Corbyn is an antisemiete, my response was that's a plus for me but I don't think its true (you should pick up this is a joke response and not something I believe) . We bonded over the shit we could talk about, movies. He's big into the marvel shit which I found depressing but was also a cinephile generally so we could talk good movies. So like you can talk to people on the level they are without trying to propagandise, especially when you know when that's going nowhere. I couldn't even get my man to join the union but if I had a problem he would always have my back.
