This wouldn't have been worth a five minute bit on Stewart's TDS. Just dunk on Tucker and move on.

It feels like if anything, it boosts Tucker's chances at running for president by legitimizing him as a potential candidate.

This episode doesn't inform anyone of anything new.

Sorry I'm not watching it, but it just hit me that I watched a lot of John Oliver as late as a year ago. I considered myself much more radical at the time but I thought he was pretty entertaining and had good dunks on capitalism even though he was completely missing the big picture. Crazy how this pandemic has changed things.

That said I do think part of my leftism came about by watching John Oliver as a lib/socdem and going "wait there are too many episodes on predatory capitalism for this to not be a larger pattern"

I was just skipping through it and it reminded me of really stupid liberal-left discourse in Germany. There is meme about left-libs (think of having a eu flag in your profile, or well off types that "really care" about the environment, love starbucks and vacationing in California) spellchecking nazi-graffiti because the real problem with Nazis is that they are dumb/uneducated and therefore hypocritical when complaining about "unintegrated foreigners" and their language skills... And the whole bit about forks really gives that vibe

He's also been pushing the yoghurt genocide lie like crazy. Manifacturing that consent for the upcoming invasion of Xinjiang.
