Now that Al Jean has stepped down and let Matt Selman handle most of the showrunning, yeah, it's pretty good again
Hopefully we never get another streak of lows like the Lady Gaga episode (which has been a punching bag in-show several times) or the Elon Musk episode
Bringing celebrities on the show to do topical quips is as old as the original season run. I don't think that's ever going to stop.
Ideally, we get something more in line with Hugh Jackman in the lastest Rick & Morty, rather than some long-form ad for the individual's brand, like Musk or Gaga. But... that kind of native advertising has been so heavily normalized in streaming TV that I doubt it'll go away.
