Personally, I'm not very empathetic to the protestors, the majority of whom were very happy to genocide the Rohingyas. But then again military juntas aren't very poggers, and these are the people who actually committed the genocide. What do yall think?
As far as I've heard, the military coup represents a more pro-US or at least anti-China faction while the protesters represent a coalition of liberals and what remains of Myanmar's left. The protesters are probably the better faction, but they could certainly get coopted even if they were successful in resisting the military.
