Many good guys ended up on the nonaligned side too so as long as it isn’t a western nato country you’ll probably be ok. See Tito’s Yugoslavia, Nasser’s Egypt and Castro’s Cuba
They were being backed by the Soviet Union but they were officially one of the original members of the non aligned movement until they got kicked for supporting the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan
