I don't know if anyone else feels the same way but spotify's algorithm is pretty awful at finding music I would like. Maybe I'm just super picky idk but it's not as good as you would hope.
If you tell it to not play stuff from artists you dislike it suggests, it figures out what you don't like really quick.
No I have an android but most of my family has iPhones and they all use it. From what they've said it sounds pretty bad.
Cool. Yeah, I don’t know .. Spotify’s algorithm has always worked great for me. I wouldn’t have found a quarter of the punk bands I’ve found without the suggestions from Spotify.
Sorry it didn’t work out as well for you bud,
Then there is the greater chad Bandcamp daily. That is where you find the weird shit.
Youtube music is even worse.
I imported my years of Google play playlists. 10's of thousands of tracks recorded.
It recommends me top 40 pop garbage for 30-40% of plays even though I have never listened to even the genres in decades.
I used to use Apple Music and I kept finding new stuff but I also made a point to search every few weeks.
Meanwhile Tidal users over there listening to bagpipes after 20 minutes of algorithm playlists
I just have VLC and a bunch of music files stored locally. Every once in a while I find a song I like and use youtube-dl to save it. I don't get the appeal of having a mysterious proprietary algorithm choose what I listen to
