    I don't know if anyone else feels the same way but spotify's algorithm is pretty awful at finding music I would like. Maybe I'm just super picky idk but it's not as good as you would hope.

        No I have an android but most of my family has iPhones and they all use it. From what they've said it sounds pretty bad.

          Cool. Yeah, I don’t know .. Spotify’s algorithm has always worked great for me. I wouldn’t have found a quarter of the punk bands I’ve found without the suggestions from Spotify.

    Youtube music is even worse.

    I imported my years of Google play playlists. 10's of thousands of tracks recorded.

    It recommends me top 40 pop garbage for 30-40% of plays even though I have never listened to even the genres in decades.

    I just have VLC and a bunch of music files stored locally. Every once in a while I find a song I like and use youtube-dl to save it. I don't get the appeal of having a mysterious proprietary algorithm choose what I listen to
