Does the train have digital displays showing the next stop or is it announced over the speaker?

    (both????)

Yeah, both. It's also a theme in German trains that the announcements are in really bad English (they're in both German and English for international travellers)

Are there any loud and annoying people nearby? Or is everyone quiet and respectful?

It's rather empty, but pretty quiet. The loudest thing are train noises :train-shining:

that's kinda slow for that kind of train btw, they can do 320 km/h (200 mph) but are only allowed to do 300 km/h

RIP. Well the German trains usually run late, especially regional ones, since the partial privatisation of the Deutsche Bahn. Doesn't really match the German stereotype

Are you allowed to bring your own booze unto the train?

On Amtrak you can bring your own booze in the states which leads to craziness sometimes.

I'm pretty sure you can. It's not allowed in most regional ones, but in the intercity ones they also sell booze and I think you can bring your own

The Coast Starlight which runs from Seattle to LA can be straight up animalistic sometimes.

I remember coming back down from a Seattle Supersonics game -- when the Supersonics still existed -- and fans were fucking in the aisles, bottles of booze were everywhere and a man only in his underwear was handing out free cans of beer.

hey what's the expression for fucking on a train? on a plane it's obviously joining the mile high club, but i can't think of anything for trains off the top of my head.
