I mean, Disco Elysium had really interesting mechanics and an amazing story. So I wouldn't be opposed to another game with similar mechanics, or just more Disco Elysium...
Maybe, but if you get to fuck around and enjoy yourself, then why not?
True enough I suppose, given the Australia plan I always got the impression that the Trisolarans still felt contempt towards humanity. A very colonial mindset, and very funny considering Trisolaran civilization "liberalized" after contact with Earth.
The war has been going on for 8 months and we've known aid is not coming in fast enough pretty much the entire time. Why didn't they simply start construction earlier?
I mean the Trisolarans saw that public opinion towards them was shifting massively positive. With Cheng Xin as the new swordholder, humanity would've been far more empowered to let all of Trisolaris immigrate into the solar system. But no, they decide to attack instead?
Honestly I feel like some ideas in the book just break down despite the good world building. I really did enjoy the series but it seems there are a million holes that are either because I missed something, or because I just didn't get it, (or the secret third option, it just has holes!).
I think the biggest hole is that over the like 400 years humanity had, the approximately 200 years from the start of the crisis era to the start of the deterrence era are where the most technological development happened, and that's despite the sophon block! The next 200 years seem to basically have 1 big invention and that's it!
Shadowbringers is the best expansion though, so you should totally finish that. And Endwalker really ties everything together so you should finish that too :)
I agree with web browsers, so much lock-in for no gain for consumers.
But for web standards and protocols, well... Why? It's a huge amount of work for basically no gain. 99% of the web works fine right now and is supported by open source stuff. The government can't stop China from cloning public GitHub repos.
Do liberals even believe that Trump is that much of a threat to democracy and the US?
I've been thinking about it, and I kind of wonder, like if you had an absolute and unshakable belief that Trump was going to destroy democracy in the US, and that the destruction of democracy in the US would lead to the destruction of society as a whole.
Well why hasn't anyone tried to do anything naughty to Trump yet?
Of course, if you don't believe Trump is going to destroy democracy, or if you don't think that the destruction of democracy is that bad, then who cares. But it seems like liberals truly believe that American society is doomed if Trump is elected, so why haven't they taken that last step?
Probably not, things have to get so unbelievably bad for the value of a revolution to outweigh the value of doing nothing and letting capitalism continue (the lure that things might get better, right?). Things also have to be really bad in the place where you are too, because so long as the facade of normalcy exists (even if it is degraded), then people will naturally come to the conclusion that such things cannot happen to them, and that they shouldn't worry.
For example, if the USA managed to provide fuel, electricity, internet, and treats (even if somewhat intermittently) right up until it collapsed, no significant portion of the population would want a revolution until after that all got taken away, and didn't have the promise of being returned.
I looooooooooooooove Minds, what silly little guys doing silly little things :)
Unfortunately she is wearing a mask which means any and all sympathy the American public might've had for her is now gone.
I wonder if it's possible to make these links pop out into new tabs? It's so annoying getting pulled away from Hexbear, then coming back and finding out I'm not in the same spot I left from.
I thought it was good after I turned the difficulty down to easy. I finished 2 playthroughs of the original on ultra-hard, so I dunno why but the combat was just not fun at all.
Not sure why you had trouble seeing things, I thought everything was pretty clear, only 1 or 2 times where I got lost on where to go next.
Honestly I went in hoping for more of the first game which is probably why I ended up disappointed in some aspects.
I mean why would you invest in primer/ammo production capacity when you just said demand only spikes temporarily and for no good reason?
Same TBH. Sometimes I just go on regexr and put in data to see what I can come up with.
Yeah, I think I definitely agree with what you've said.
I still assert that people seem to care more about the risk of LGBTQ+ people being killed "close to home" versus them actually being killed in foreign conflicts; however I suspect the reason is probably because the ones "close to home" are white.
I don't even think you need to believe in hierarchy of marginalized people, all you need is to not want to see killing happen at home because it's icky up close and all of a sudden it makes a lot of sense.
Maybe I'm wrong but I came to this conclusion because it seems people don't care (or at least don't care as strongly) if LGBTQ+ people are killed in oversees conflicts, but care a lot about the idea it might happen in their country.
Uh, yeah, that's basically what the people who get paid that much do. They say "I want more money", and then they get it because they are too important for employers to freeze out, or are valuable enough to get hired practically anywhere the second you let them go.
Turns out strikes are just that, but instead of one person, it's a bunch of people!
