Lots of good stuff but Spider Network series is probably the most important

i can't tell if this is really good mocking journalism or extreme boot-licking journalism
just an FYI, the lawyer is also a very badass labor lawyer, Benjamin Dictor
it def does! if people don't want office space, then rents go down. most of these buildings are highly leveraged with debt, and if they can't hit their projected income targets, then they may have to default on their debt. if they default on their debt, it could have a major impact on capitalism as a whole. office buildings are, as a rule, the most expensive properties, and the ones that pre-covid were thought of as quite stable. it's where "smart money" is parked, like life insurance, the remaining pension plans etc etc
highly recommend checking out Kids These Days by Malcolm Harris, a look at the origins of the term "human capital." It goes really in depth on this question.
it often sucks, but I try to focus on highlighting corporate corruption and the societal effects of capitalism, which helps (even if it also helps with the whole narrative of crony capitalism). I also do a lot with our union which helps to fight back against the most $$$$ seeking qualities of our management. tbh tho I could have made a lot more money doing much more societally harmful work. so idk... people are right to hate most journalists though.
lol you can't quote me without my (boo hiss)!!!
I cover this stuff in the press (boo hiss) and you're 100% right. this is a battle to the death for office owners, and their banks. No one could handle having to actually pay for all of this real estate.
the whole Factory/Warhol scene was no good, even though velvet underground is prolly one of the best rock bands of all time
definitely explicitly leftist, but they don't talk about it all the time. 10/10 best $3 a month I spend.
I think 3 is JFK
I'm reading the indigenous people's history of the US right now, and would have to say yes. The British Empire was holding settlers back from nonstop westward movement, but once 1776 hit, the settlers began to expand and begin a campaign of annihilation of indigenous ppl. This is also why most tribes allied w/ the Brits. An empire since day 1!
that's what's fun about it!
I was the lower middle class kid in college with all the upper class kids. no surprise I became the dealer :)
YUUUUUP they said as much on the earnings call after the news. they werent capturing the wild price appreciation, so they adjusted their algorithm and ended up way overshooting it. pretty wild for the biggest listing platform to say that
they even said as much on earnings calls, though hoped to eventually get more $$ from selling ppl mortgages and other services/ make more money one they "scaled"
can you link me to the other thread? sorry if its a lot of work to find
I'm not 100% sure, but I think if you stick to Robinhood for index funds and stuff, esp if not pumping and dumping, should be pretty safe. you still have some legal protection
I'd use my working knowledge of capital markets to get us some venture-backed seed funding, growth equity, and some cheap debt. Commune and revolution bonds baby!
Love Island and Real Housewives. Turn my brain off!!
