Shipping containers in other major international ports are stacked 10-12 high

his suggestions aren't market-based incentives and are therefore communism
Apparently the NIMBYs created the two stack code because some nearby condos did not like the view from comments in another thread I read.
Also why America's largest port does not run 24/7 like 90% of international ports -- too much noise at night.
property values are a strong fighter but financialized capital will probably win this match if I had to guess
Absolutely not a chance. The right of the Homeowner is the only force more powerful than the right of the Customer in the American system.
Based Centrist compromise for a permanent solution: 4 high stacks, eliminate the 5-6 pm gap on weekdays, and bring the weekends up to the 8a-3a schedule.
and hang whoever approved those condo projects right next to the port (or at least look into the bribes they received)
I mean, if we're doing that, we may as well move to a standard 24/7 cycle. The above is just what I think the compromise will be.
yeah sorry I just started thinking about why they were there in the first place, shouldn't have said "and"
Understandable, and I agree with you, for the record.
can you link me to the other thread? sorry if its a lot of work to find
literally the guy stacking dominos meme where the small domino is "NIMBY yuppies in luxury condos whining that their oceanfront view is blocked"
Long Beach is run by nimbys. 80% of the city's population works in another city. 60% are renters but the city falls behind every year in affordable housing they're required to build. Shot down an actually good land ordinance to allow mixed use housing.
They can only stack the 2 high IN HIS TRUCK YARD. They can stack them higher in the port
