Interesting. Minetest was easy to remember as someone only vaguely familiar with the project, and IDK if Luanti really lives up to that, but it is definitely true that it being called Minetest did lead me to be totally unaware that it was more of a platform so perhaps it's a good thing.
The point-of-failure argument is a good one, but it's worth saying that Apple fixed this before eventually removing the home button: In later iPhones with the home button it didn't actually physically click, it was capacitive with haptic feedback to simulate the feeling of a click.
