I'm no expert and I mostly lift for the workout (Not necessarily the visible gains) but buying a medicine ball and doing bodyweight exercises with running when gyms were closed served me pretty well.

  • Amtrak isn't even amazing (although maybe better than what youd expect from America), and I still get super excited to take a long distance train. Its so relaxing. The last time I was on one was when I took a train from PA to Mass. to knock doors for Bernie, and it was two 7 hour rides but I loved it. You can read, you can listen to music, you can sleep; you can actually see scenery, unlike planes. Theyre so fun!

I read The Shock Doctrine in 2017 or so during my transition from Liberal to leftist. I was kind of aware of some of the stuff that the book goes into, but just right off the bat the detail that Klein went into regarding the lead up to the 1973 Chilean coup was pretty harrowing.

That was the turning point when I went from thinking the US would be fine if we just had healthcare and a better safety net to realizing that the country was just irredeemably evil.
