Not just the media class. Lib friends on social media and chuds in family were losing their minds. Said lib friends were a lot calmer during the Capitol riot. Weird how that works...

You know just the title of this book hooked me. I thought it would be an actual history about left-wing movements in America. Then as soon as I saw 'Joe Biden' in the summary I stopped reading.

Should mention this girl has had the weirdest life trajectory. We grew up in the same metro area, she went to a super toxic private school, we went to college together where she basically acted like the villain in 'nice guy' fantasies , she dropped out to move to Alaska to become a marine biologist, then quit that and became a housewife in rural Idaho.

During all of this she would post genuinely the strangest takes/conspiracy theories I have ever heard.

  • I really just don't think she understands economics in general (funny because my dad got his degree in economics). During that week we all thought Bernie was going to win it all (RIP) she was petrified that her taxes were going to increase by 67% and her house would be seized. I have no idea where she got that from but here we are.

  • Even his proposed tax hike (which likely won't happen) wouldn't affect her. And ever since she became an empty-nester she just latches on to our increasingly chudish relatives and the spiral accelerates (she has few non-familial friends she only rarely sees even before COVID). I feel like kind of a sucker for listening to her for so long but I was taking advice from an increasingly unstable woman. And I feel like I got fucked myself in the process.
