The Battle at Lake Changjin (2021)

I went on a bit of a research expedition and learned that Mao's eldest son, Mao Anying, who was killed in 1950 by a US bomber during the Korean War briefly depicted in the movie, studied in Moscow, petitioned Stalin to send him to the front during the WW2, got his wish, and served as an artillery officer, during the final Battle of Berlin including. Also had no idea Mao had 10 children lol

Americans seem to have an institutionally slapdash approach to nuclear weapons that is frankly bizare

there's kinda the desire to genocide anyone that stands against you ingrained into americans. the nuke is the most obvious way to do that, you can't really survive that.

It was very early in the atomic era where people wanted to figure out how to apply nuclear weapons/power to any and every situation. Keep in mind this is a country which invested research into air to air nuclear missiles

well nuclear power outside of America is a good idea but Americans can't be trusted with nuclear fission
