In the hilltops of Burundi a group of escaped coltan miners form an anti-colonialist computer hacker collective. From their camp in an otherworldly e-waste dump, they attempt a takeover of the authoritarian regime exploiting the region's natural resources - and its people. When an inter-sex runaway and an escaped coltan miner find each other through cosmic forces, their connection sparks glitches within the greater divine circuitry.
I gave this a watch last night. Very much recommend it. If you're down with Saul Williams you'll definitely dig it. It's like an afro-cyberpunk-mythos spoken word performance. Lots of wordplay and metaphor. The first half took a bit of focus as there's a lot to catch up on as it establishes itself, but the later half of the movie really takes off. It's a welcome respite from all the capeshit and franchise films.
Anywhere you recommend watching it, or at least on what service?
You can stream it for free from Kanopy if you have a library card
I got it off of Torrentleech, but it looks like RARBG has it.
