Reminds me of a minor drama that happened on the internet one of these days because a brazilian moved to the US and since she's a beautician she discovered that americans not only don't shower every day but don't wash their butts. Meaning that every time someone came in asking for a brazilian wax she'd have to tell them to wash themselves in the bathroom because even their underwear was dirty with poop.
Then an american doctor made a video response to her, saying that the tiktok was unprofessional and embarrassing. And that the correct thing to do was for the beautician to wash people's asses.
There's a case to be made that if you live in a cold place you can avoid using shampoo and other products every day. But there's no reason not to clean yourself of your own dirty skin.
I got a bidet and it's some of the best money I ever spent. If you go for a basic mechanical one without any of the fancy extra features, it's quite cheap, and they're easy to install.
I read some book where the mystic movement leader basically was complaining about Americans hygiene being horrific even 100 yrs ago, he was really flipped out about them not washing their genitals appropriately, also our bread apparently really sucked, even back then. Every time I deal with dirty clothes at work fucking still wet with people's various bodily fluids I think about that passage.
TBH I don't think americans have terrible hygiene. It's more like brazilians have different habits. We shower every day, sometimes twice. We bring toothbrushes around to brush our teeth all the time. And we also keep a trashcan in the bathroom to dispose of toilet paper. That is more bearable than it sounds because brazilians wash their asses before wiping, but it's definitely a culture shock for americans and other peoples who historically had access to good piping.
Some of those are climate related too, maybe outside of the deserts rainforests humid af. Still though, unless there's some health issue or accident that happens there's no excuse for people to go about in their own shit, and definitely not get it on random underwear they try on the store.
It happens as a cashier at a clothing store, not super common but at least once every 4 months (to me) I'd say. Its like plz learn to wipe your ass if you're going to try stuff in the store, there was one customer who was like 'I changed my mind on these', you could see the skid mark fading on every following pair of underwear (they had 6 pairs), was some .
