And they gave him the Killmonger hair

I'm not sure what I was expecting with this one, but "Jedi police procedural" wasn't it? I only saw S1 of Russian Doll, but I liked it enough to be excited about this show.

theory spoiler

I'm guessing the Jedi faked Mae's death for some reason, and the masters that she's killing are involved in some kind of coverup or another abuse of authority. For some reason I didn't except Amandla Stenberg to be playing two characters, and I didn't expect them to more or less confirm that they're two separate people in the pilot.

Carrie-Anne Moss really showed up for a day or two to film and action sequence and that's it (maybe she'll be in a flashback sequence or something)?

I really hope this doesn't link back to the "Skywalker Saga", but I feel like it's going to explain why the Jedi were so hesitant to take Anakin in at best or somehow involve Darth Plagueis or the origins of Anakin's birth or something at worst.

Overall: obviously not going to be another Andor (we'll be lucky if Andor S2 is another Andor tbh). If we're lucky, it might be entertaining enough for the next 6 episodes.

I really liked what's been released so far, and I'm cautiously optimistic about the rest of the show. I'm a sucker for when Star Wars media depicts individual Jedi as flawed heroes while showing the Jedi Order itself as suffering from deep institutional problems. KotOR 4 eva.

      From the wiki article:

Headland wanted to explore the Star Wars franchise from the perspective of the villains. She felt the High Republic era would be the best point in the timeline to do this because the Sith, who are the villains in the films, are considerably outnumbered and in hiding during this time.

I'm also feeling pretty optimistic about this one. I was hoping that Mae's master would be some kind of non-Sith dark force user, but I'm pretty sure that's asking for too much lol.

At the very least I'm hoping for more Jedi being awful cops in the remaining episodes.

If you don't already listen to it, you might like the podcast A More Civilized Age. They explore a lot of this through the Clone Wars show and KotOR
