I’ve been saying this for a long time: we can do self-moderation here on Hexbear if they make all upvotes public, so we know who are the reactionaries instantly.

This will reduce the workload of the mods and also allow some democratic work to be done by the users as well.

        that's such juicy gossip

would we ever consider making something like that accessible to normal users?

I can see obvious problems with it, and it would probably be more annoying than it's worth... but it would be fun.

Opt in. To see who upvoted a post, you have to have your upvotes seeable.

And maybe you could only see who uovoted your own comments/posts. I think it would be a fun way to see who's in your corner.

Just before hexbear removed downvotes, the admins checked to see who had downvoted any of the frequent "I love my trans comrades" posts and purged them all

The one person who was like "I'm not transphobic, but I downvote all pinned posts on principle and I will never stop" and then got banned was the one that really cracked me up

but really they should've also banned everyone who DIDNT upvote...

maybe you could only see who liked your own comments/posts.

This would fuck with my head too much, please never add this.

Couldn't normal uses just make a instance and then they're be an admin and be able to see downvotes? An instance could just make those votes public if you use their instance. Not sure if defederating them would prevent them from getting that info or not.
