oh i won't! just finished the season because i have no self control when it comes to the end of animes. the season finale didnt exactly answer all my questions lol. also, is there anything else i should watch? netflix has "Evangelion death (true)" or something and i dont want to look it up in case of spoilers
The End of Evangelion is what you want to watch next, basically the proper ending. Death (True)2 is a clip show recap of the series, but it has some new scenes in it that may shed a bit of extra light on the plot.
I don't know that I would call the movie they were forced to make after everyone hated their original ending the "proper" one. More like the "you fucking assholes want more? are you sure about that?" ending.
When I watched it directly after finishing the anime, it seemed to me that End of Evangelion was meant to show what was literally going on during the final two episodes that are originally told from the perspective of Shinji's subconscious.
So in the sense that people generally watch it after finishing the anime, and it is meant to more clearly tell the ending of the story, I'd call it the proper ending.

fair nuff, I like the movie too actually even if I'm a bit harsh on it. I havent watched any of the rebuilds though...
I think there was also the issue with the anime ending of Gainax literally running out of both time and money.
