Is there a specific career field you are wanting to get into? A lot of places don't actually care what your degree is in, just that you have one. Granted, a relevant degree can look better. Also, a masters doesn't have to be exactly in the field of your undergrad, so might be worth considering. Also, sometimes HR payscales are dependent on degree level.

Hopefully we make academia a much more secure career path. The number of job openings is dwarfed by applicants and even if you can make it past that, the endless grind for grants to fund research is abysmal.
