Every time something gets made I just assume it's some sort of tax grift or laundering money really. Like if we had the financial record we'd see some ceo or company is making a lot in gov tax refund or something.
Or it's just an incompetent executive looking to cash in on nostalgia and save themselves finding a cool new thing. No reason to assume malice when incompetence and/or laziness is a perfectly adequate explanation
Maybe it's just that I remember :parenti: saying something like we need to assume the worst in the rich because they can and do scheme to their benefit. Labeling it as just incompetency leaves a lot of things unquestioned you know?
True guess I'm using launder in a more vague sense. With the tax laws heavily in their favor I can see them making shit and writing it off as a tax write off or collecting a lot of money from the government through this somehow.

Yeah but if you want to launder money and avoid taxes while being rich you would just get your accountant to do it. schemes are quite hard
