This is part 4 in a series of pretty great interviews Michael Moore has put out with people directly involved in the Portland protests.
Nearly 2 decades ago, Michael Moore started me on my path to the left. He is the reason I owned a copy of the Communist Manifesto at 15. He was seen as a joke for at least a decade, but his anger always felt like it came from a real place. I'm glad to see he's still out there, fighting the good fight. He is one of the best ambassadors to the liberal world that we have.
This interview is great, as is all of Robert's protest coverage, and the other 3 parts of the series are worth listening to as well. Ignore the theatrics, it's meaningless. This reaches hundreds of thousands of people, and that's fucking awesome.
I loved him, and discovered when he released Bowling for Columbine. I think that one really stuck a nerve nationally, and it brought him to spotlight. After that, he was very respected in liberal circles. I thought so, anyways. I never fully understood how his reputation sort of fizzled. I'm guessing his films that were more directly anti-establishment resulted in less and worse press from the corporate media.
