I remember starting to browse /r/Europe after Brexit to see what was up. Imagine my shock when I see erudite, educated posters who were seconds ago calling Britons racist shitheads for voting Brexit, turn around in an instant and show the most disgusting bigotry towards "gypsies" (their word). It was my first inkling that these Europeans who look down on America for being racist were just projecting. When I called a few out on it, the reply was a variation of "I'm speaking the truth, you ever see how those filthy people live? STFU American." Couldn't believe it. Was a real eye-opener.
