Requiring nsfw tags for pictures of meat in c/food is still dumb to me.
If it's a picture of, like, a stuffed pig or something, I get it, but once the food really doesn't look much like an animal anymore, it's not a problem imo.
We have separate c/food and c/vegan communities for a reason.
Do you talk about poop at the dinner table? Or say dirty jokes in front of older people? Putting a NSFW tag takes seconds, and it saves people grief. Gosh, why is human decency and compassion so hard?
Controversial like funny, not controversial like shit that's been said so many other times already, and which came close to bringing the site down.
So sorry that taking a fraction of a second to tick a box is hard for you. Especially since much of the community here, and big parts of the developers, find pics of dead sentient animals really distressing.
Remember this next time your neighbor or acquaintance is doing something that you find overly stressful, but they won't stop. Human decency and compassion seems pointless until you're the one who's feelings are getting ignored.
I'm meantime, pretty please, comrade. Please tag your meat pics as NSFW, so I can enjoy the experience here and not think of dying animals. Thank you.
Please comrade. I humbly beg of you. Please give a toss about my feelings and the feelings of other vegans/vegetarians here, and tick the box that says NSFW so I can enjoy this sub without getting depressed. Is that a lot? I'd be so grateful. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Dude, you can't tick a box to make your comrades feel better. Why does it need to be exclusionary for you? No one's trying to ban omnis on this.
There's literally a "no vegan posting outside of c/strugglesession" which I manage to follow to keep the peace. God forbid the mods enforce it. You come here and shit on vegans, which I haven't done to omnis. Peace starts with your own actions, comrade.
Sushi was posted a few days ago and no one seemed to have a problem. I don't know if that was wrecker shit by people who don't even visit that comm or they have been all banned.

We really should not be opening the doors for any circlejerk sub imho.
Circlejerk subs are usually rife with problematic edgelord types who care more about stirring up drama than any cause.

It is a good bit though, like censorting feet in porn
Ya, but it takes a fraction of a second. And it saves a lot of people undeserved grief.
Honestly, this is something that should be stuck in c/strugglesession
This is a comment, not a post, it can be wherever.
Look at the comments to your comments. This is already shaking the drama tree.
Well that's not really my fault, the post asked for potentially controversial opinions, I commented one.
I can't control what other people do.

I'm not even subbed to the food comm.
It seems the vegan community on Hexbear now thinks they can go to any comm they want and act morally superior to their fellow comrades.
Meat is not poop, billions of human beings eat it, and the fact that you think it is OK to talk about other people's food like that is messed up.
Please comrade, I humbly beg of you. Stop shitting on other people's diets.
Literally only asking you to check a box when you post a type of food that many find disturbing. Is this hard?

I sincerely honestly hope that your feelings aren't so intentionally shit on in the future. Remember that empathy and kindness can go both ways.

Thought you're done responding :shrug-outta-hecks:

Yeah, lets do the "no one called it out this once so clearly you're not really that bothered by it" thing that right wing groups are famous for
