sports for me, especially college football
sports too, and some kinds of art such as poetry and opera. nothing against those things, i just don't know much about them.
Broadway/opera/sports. automatically know when I see those to not even try
theater/opera type categories.
also sports, to an extent. i pick up a lot of sports knowledge through weird social osmosis. also i've randomly followed the NHL and NFL in various periods of my life. but if it's like...baseball? gross.
Almost made it on the show as a teen but I flunked one of the final-round quizzes they made me do. Memorably, I didn’t know the name of the author of Harry Potter so missed that question.
Not knowing the author of Harry Potter feels like you flexing more than saying you almost got on jeopardy does.
Some kind of horseshoe theory with my parents... quiverfull seventh day Adventist homeschool evangelical types. Harry Potter was considered evil and disallowed
Theater/opera/classical music. I'm awful at that shit. I absolutely wreck ass in almost every other category. I'll take this opportunity to straight up brag - I'm in the "100th percentile" (which I take to mean 99.9th) on Alexa jeopardy. If it weren't for opera bullshit I firmly believe I could go on jeopardy and win easily. As is, getting on is hard (those categories are extra prevalent in the admission test), but I'm trying, and I think I could win a day or two.
I went to the in person audition once and did really well there, but wasn't called to be on the show. I'm going to get on there some day
Opera and some other arts. Its a dream of mine to be on Jeopardy some day, I will have to study up on some of those weak areas. In general I'm very good with most categories
When they do the thing where it's two answers mashed together with the last word of one being the first of the other, ugh too much
