I moderate /r/socialism I will install the Vaush bot if this happens.
Also, I hope they're ready for moderator entryism site-wide because the effort people would put in would only go up by 100x. The strats for massive sitewide subreddit takeovers already exist, people are just lazy and it's that laziness holding shit from exploding. Energising people is a very bad idea. In the case of leftists the containment subreddit strategy actually works, unlike with the far right.
It is extremely easy to get modded basically anywhere on reddit, no skill involved, just as you say -- time investment. All you have to do is become a power user in a community and demonstrate the right "attitude" for the modteam to find you an attractive option, then apply. That's just the basics. Honestly 2 weeks of effort in a community is all it takes to get to that point.
From that point onwards is where the strategy gets interesting. Reddit's hierarchy is incredibly vulnerable to common political party and org tactics which are hilariously what everyone in the left gets pretty experienced with against adults. Most modteams on reddit are teenagers or naive people just doing community stuff in good-faith so the whole site is vulnerable to organised hierarchical takeover through the usual socialist tactics.
It's seriously a joke. They should be way more careful about motivating the left because invested communists could genuinely just take over the entire site if they wanted to. They've made absolutely horrible choices for structure and their libertarian attitudes towards being non-interventionist with modteams as much as possible makes the entire thing devastatingly weak to organised entryism.

Huh there's takeovee strats? Sounds time-consuming

I mean the admins have shown they're more than willing to "set the mods straight" since they've nuked the cth mod team twice for the lols.
