Star Trek anarchism is basically The Culture series.

In fact I'd dare say it's a vastly superior depiction of a communist techno utopia than Star Trek.

i agree. and it's probably more actual, full blown stateless moneyless classless communism then anarchism but i believe the Culture itself arrived to it through a sort of AI facilitated anarchist development (loose society of starfaring ships and stations that slowly becomes the Culture itself). i have fantasies about the Culture absorbing Earth without violence in the way they do. plus it goes places Star Trek never does, what with the transhumanism and people being able to change sex to match their gender with ease or as a self exploration, control over internal body processes, and the whole zero exploitation of any sentient life being their only real rule. sorry for fangirling

Nah I completely agree. I read like half the series and don't want to finish it because it's kinda depressing to read about The Culture knowing I won't ever live in such a society. I can watch Star Trek because the Federation most of the time feels like modern day US but in space while The Culture feels way more real because it's so fundamentally different from our society and the author pays attention to the details.

same reason why i've been very, very slowly reading the series. kind of savoring it. and you are right about the details. The Federation is absolutely post-scarcity hyper social democracy U.S. in space sometimes. i wish it was more based.
