That second point changes if more commodities and services become available in Bitcoin, no? Death to crypto anyway

        That won't happen.

At best I can maaaaybe imagine people using it to directly buy more expensive things like cars and real estate, and that's a big maybe.

Bonus hot take: I still think it's not any more stupid than gold. No gold having some small material use doesn't matter.

Every now and again I fantasize about creating malware and attaching it to some kind of libertarian obsession, and just robbing crypto techbros of all their coins.

Maybe one of these days I'll actually do it...

Is crypto the real AI singularity? We are going to doom our species so people can own virtual bits. Expending more and more resources on building and running networks of computers that feed our social illness is the Paper Clip Maximizer of the information age.

At WebDollar's April peak price of $.0005, the repository was making $77USD per month - a considerable sum in many countries, especially given that the only tools required are a laptop and an internet connection

I mean, can you blame them?

Github/etc would be better off paying them off so they don't do it, like some sort of protection racket

I don't use CI that much and this is fucking me and my projects over. I have a cron that triggers once a day and it's generally 30-40 mins late a day now due to the high demand. One of my projects is getting garbage PRs made against it with a heavily forked action attached that is auto run. And it's all for generating pennies per process.

The intent of cryptocurrency was to make an anonymous, trustable currency not to make internet dumbasses free money.
