Seriously if you guys haven’t seen, watch that shit. It’s an awesome and pretty original horror movie.
If anyone here has seen it, what were your thoughts on the film?
There are a handful of movies that have left me with such anxiety that I had to immediately watch something stupid to make my chest stop hurting, this was one of them.
Such a good film. Literally one of the most intense and desperate things I've ever seen. Patrick Stewart's portrayal of a cold and terrifying leader of a neo nazi gang was chilling.
SPOILER: The fact that the strongest person in the group with the highest chance of helping them survive jumps through a window to the outside and is immediately set upon and stabbed to death on the floor was fucking brutal, and sets up the hopelessness so well. Also singing nazi punks fuck off during the set was glorious.
Yeah he hid it from most of the people he worked with, but he had cystic fibrosis. Hell of a disease to hide; I have it myself and it requires a lot of maintenance and frequent week long hospital stays! That said, a shame he died from that freak accident because nowadays (like the past two, three years) the drugs for the disease have gotten astronomically better, and in all likelihood he would live to a ripe old age with it just fine.
I love green room but its a hard watch for me. The violence just feels way to real and visceral and it feels like the kind of trouble I'd get myself into.
I've seen it maybe 2 or 3 times and every time I have to force myself to finish it because it creates a deeper terror in me that most horror movies don't touch.
Yeah when he wasn’t letting them leave it made me sick to my stomach. Exactly the kind of situation I’d find myself in. I’m a recovering addict so it hit home with me
Really liked it. I would recommend saulniers first two films as well. Murder party is hilarious
I've watched Blue Ruin, but I didn't know that Saulnier had a hand in Murder Party .
I wonder if there's a cut of Murder Party that is just as anxiety inducing as Green Room?
It was a great movie. Deeply unsettling, but intense and engaging. I wasn't sure how things were going to shake out, but I wasn't disappointed from what I can remember.
I was very surprised by this movie. Went in not really expecting a whole lot and enjoyed the hell out of it. Patrick Stewart is a badass, it's so weird to see him play a piece of shit bug he does a great job. They really capture some of the seedier elements of the DIY punk scene, too. I don't know anyone who went full nazi punk, but I definitely knew some kids who were very easy to influence if they thought they were getting a seat at the "cool kids" table. Great movie.
Great movie. Even bought a physical copy of it, I enjoyed it so much.
